Rachel Jean Birch is a creative producer, dancer, teacher and programmer based between Newcastle upon Tyne, UK and Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
Rachel is director of Moving Art Management with co-director Hannah Moreno, and together they deliver a range of arts projects across the North East of England. Our current portfolio includes projects with Mobius Dance, Rendez-Vous Dance, Hit The Ground Running Dance Theatre Company, Surface Area Dance Theatre and Rory Studio, as well as our regular programme of scratch platforms for dance, FRESH North East.
Rachel's experience also includes her role as Programme Coordinator at O2 Academy and City Hall Newcastle, as well as lecturer in Dance Management and Project Leadership for Dance City/Sunderland University degree and as a dance teacher in schools and colleges across the North East.
Rachel has recently performed with Balbir Singh Dance Company, Southpaw
Dance Company and Surface Area Dance Theatre.
In 2015 Rachel attended The Clore Emerging Leaders course in Leamington Spa
in 2016 was part of the Expanding Horizons course at Dance City, Newcastle.
Rachel graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2010 with
a major in Choreography and since graduating has performed with
Lo-Giudice Dance, Dansformation and picturecircle films and Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company.
Music video credits include The Grammatics ‘Vague Archive’, Ajimal’s ‘Wolf’ and ‘This Human Joy’, Border Scout 'Let's Pretend We're Dead' and Talk Like Tigers ‘Animalistic’ and 'Gunning.'
